Yvonne Craig is my idea of a woman who stayed in great shape her entire career without losing her femininity. In fact, I think women had it right in the 60's. For the most part they remained slim while keeping their soft curves. When men get too big and ripped it looks "forced". The same goes for women. When women overdo their workouts and do too much volume of lifting they can put on too much muscle. I think light muscle tone while being slim is the ideal route. I know that I risk upsetting some people by posting my opinion here, but I guarantee you that I'm not in the minority here.

What many people don't know is that she was 32 when she played the green woman (or green lady). Staying lean and fit is easy when someone is in their early to mid 20's. Unfortunately, a lot of people let themselves go when they enter their 30's.]
If you reduce calories consumed you can get the same fat loss results with less time spent exercising. Eating 2,000 calories more per week than you need and then doing cardio 5 times per week to burn those 2,000 calories leads you to a net fat loss of nothing. A lot of people ask me how many times per week they should workout. My answer is that it depends upon how many excess calories per week they plan on eating. I enjoy exercise, but it is just a small part of my life. I used to train 4-5 times per week, but now I am more likely to get in 3 sessions per week. The key is that I have reduced calories to get just as good of results with less visits to my gym.
[By simply "eating less" and staying active day to day, you can reduce the amount of official workouts per week. Although it sounds simple, many people eat too much and then burn off those excess calories with many unnecessary hours in the gym.]
It has been shown that being obese can increase risk of an early death by 2 to 3 times, but what about being just a little overweight? In my day to day life I see many examples of people who are just a little overweight. In fact, I would guess that at least 1/3 of the people I know who are over the age of 50 fit into this category. I have found a few studies that show that being overweight increases the risk for several life threatening diseases.
[I love seeing older people who are full of energy and goofing around, like this couple. Honestly, there is no reason to grow up and act like an elderly person is "suppose to".
